In the most highly anticipated game of the season, NRNW destroys Gowanus 87-66. Most expected a different outcome with Gino not in attendance, but LeeLee had other plans. LeeLee who finished with 31 points in the game dominated from start to finish. G-Erv scored 15 points but was never able to make an impact for Gowanus due to the harassing defense by Lil V, who also had 14 points in the win.
NRNW definitely showed why they won the championship last year and have a great chance of defending their title. They have the best fan base in the tournament by far. Not too many negatives from this game but they can definitely look to add another rebounder. I wasn’t too sold on the new addition of Jordan, but it’s just one game and we have a long season ahead.
Gowanus will definitely need to re-group. The team needs to identify what they want to do. They were at a disadvantage from aspect of the game. Eddie Kane will need to be surrounded with more scorers. No one seem to be able to take control of the game and change the momentum when NRNW went on their run. Even though it’s early in the season, the team we saw last night will make an early exit in playoffs if they make it.
